Agnes Mae Briggs, 91, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Saturday evening, February 9, 2008, at Jordan’s Nursing Home with her family at her side. Agnes was born in Harbert, Michigan on April 1, 1916 to Charles and Molly (Diamond) Martin. In December of 1936 she married Forrest Briggs in LaPorte, Indiana.
He preceded her in death on August 25, 2001. Over the years she had worked as a retail clerk, as a housekeeper, as a riveter for Bendix, and had also worked very hard with her husband and family on their farm where they grew and sold produce. Agnes was an active member of the Three Oaks Church of Christ where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and taught Sunday school. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Forrest, they spent many winters in Florida and had traveled all over the south and west including a trip to Hawaii.
Survivors include her children, Fred (Janet) Briggs of Sawyer; Gail (Howard) Jackson of Lexington, KY; and Tom Briggs of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Linda, Gerald, Rick, Howard, Steve and Barry; great grandchildren, Michael, Vanessa, Nathan, Sarah, Matthew, Jerry, Amanda, Nichole, Mark, Joshua, Richard, Ashley, Charlie, Nicole, Stephanie, Kayla and Drew; 12 great great grandchildren; and her beloved nieces and nephews.
