Agatha Crawley Shelton, age 91, of 520 Riddle Road Chatham, VA, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Abingdon Place in Danville. She was born on September 28, 1920, in Pittsylvania County, the daughter of the late Sam Henry Crawley and the late Irene Toler Crawley. She was a member of Payneton Methodist Church. Mrs. Shelton worked in the men’s department at Leggetts Department Store in Chatham until her retirement. She was married to the late William Bondemheimer Shelton. Mrs. Shelton is survived by two sisters, Katherine C. Rowland of Gretna and Ruby C. Rowland of Salem; one brother, S. H. Crawley, Jr. of Gretna. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas R. Crawley, Ray E. Crawley, and John W. Crawley; one sister, Myrtle C.
