Adonias Niyurukundo, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, left us too soon on September 16, 2022 in a car accident, at age 23. Although it was a shock to his family and friends, his Lord and Savior knew his timing and welcomed him home with loving arms. Adonias was born in Tanzania on May 25, 1999, to Eliah Nyandwi and Beoline Barandagiye. Adonias was a happy child that always enjoyed being with his family and friends. The family moved to the United States in 2006 when he was 7 years old. He was baptized on November 15, 2015. He attended Pinkston High school where he played football, soccer, and golf. He graduated in June 2017 and then attended the University of Houston the same year. A motorcycle accident that happened on March 27, 2020, delayed his education, but he was in the process of graduating with a psychotherapy degree this semester. Although the accident put him in a wheelchair, he had a great attitude and wouldn’t let the wheelchair slow him down. He was a fighter.
Adonias enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Patriots, working out, and reading. He also enjoyed American food. Chick-fi-l-a, black coffee and Strawberry Cake, and Chocolate Cake from the Cake Bar were some of his favorites. Adonias enjoyed being with people and just hanging out with family and friends.
Jesus had been working in Adonias’ life and grew closer to the Word, his church, and his spiritual life. Adonias’ favorite bible verse was Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.
Adonias leaves behind his father, Eliah Nyandwi; his mother Beoline Barandagiye; his brothers Erick Nikiza and Frugence Nishimwe; and his sisters Vumilia Suzana, Colia Ndayishimiye, Odetta Bukuru, Penina Felix, Aline Magahura, and Agrestine Kwizera. He also leaves behind 13 nieces and 13 nephews.
Although missed every day, the family rests assured that they will see him again.
