WINSTED -ADELAIDE HOWELLAdelaide Howell, 90, of Winsted died on Sunday, January 21, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born on May 1, 1916 in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of the late John Robert Howell and Lucy Mae (DeMund) Howell. She is predeceased by her sisters, Ethel Mae Cook and Beulah Boughton, and her brothers Earl Howell, Forrest Howell and John Russell Howell. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Miss Howell lived in New York City for a number of years where she was a member of the Art Students League, New York City and the New York Clay Club. She was employed as a draftsman at Sperry Gyroscope in Great Neck, Long Island. A long time resident of Winsted, she attended Northwestern Connecticut Community Howell was a life-long artist. While she worked in various mediums including sculpture and drawing her favorite medium was painting. She displayed at a number of local venues.
