Adelaide G. Cerejo, 89, of West Hartford, loving wife of the late Manuel M. Cerejo, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born on October 23, 1922 in Santos, Brazil to the late Jose and Maria (Goncalves) DaCosta, she grew up in Portugal and moved to Hartford in 1963 and then to West Hartford in 1970. She worked for Solico in Hartford 25 years, retiring in 1991. A truly devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, her family was the most important thing in her life and they brought her great pride and joy over the years. Adelaide’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hughes Health and Rehab, the nurses and CNAs of floor 7-2 at Saint Francis Hospital, and especially to Dr. Satyarani Tallapureddy for the compassionate care given to her during this difficult time. Adelaide leaves her beloved children; Adelaide Rosario and her husband Tony of Farmington, Otilia Sousa and her husband Joseph of Newington, Armindo Cerejo and his wife Maria of Marlborough, Maria Adilia Intino and her husband Anthony of Wethersfield; her grandchildren, George Rosario, Michelle Geddo and her husband Carlo, Christine Villa and her husband Rob, Joseph Sousa and his wife Karrie, David Sousa, Joyce Day and her husband Michael, John Cerejo and Dana Ballard, Anthony Intino III, Nicholas Intino, several loving great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Maria DaCosta and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Manuel, she was pre-deceased by her brother Jose DaCosta.
