Adam Charles Reed, was born to Charles and Glendora Reed, on August 16, 1965, at Fort Benning, GA, and passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 23, 2016, due to complications of COPD and emphysema.
He is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Glendora Reed, his loving and devoted wife, Kathy Reed; sons Adison and wife Danielle; Alias and wife Katie, all of Colorado Springs; and his sisters Katrina and husband JR Weldon, of Colorado Springs, and Robin Lee and husband Russ Cambron, of Auburndale, FL. He had an extraordinary love for his mother and an incredible love and devotion for his wife. He is also survived by six beautiful grandchildren, Aila, Bradon, Skylee, Amelia, Wyatt and Colton, as well as his furry children past and present, Petey, Tango, Cooper, Mena, Spitty, Silver, Moose, Tigger, Willy, and all his other stray babies.
As a child, Adam traveled extensively with his family around the United States and to Germany twice and Japan, where he attended DoD Schools, experienced different cultures and made countless friends. In Japan he was involved in school, chapel and the Scouting program. In Germany he played High School football and bass in a band called Snow Bank White, loving sports and music with a passion that carried over into his adult life. Returning to the states, he met and married the love of his life, his amazing wife, Kathy. The two of them were inseparable, being happily married for over 32 years, and having two incredible sons. He passionately enjoyed his “hot rod,” music and the great outdoors.
Adam loved and provided for his family through an assortment of skills and trades; including boat building and design where he created top-of-the-line masterpieces for WellCraft Marine, of Avon Park, FL. He also ventured into his own excavation business called Ventura Excavation…and did some remarkable construction and landscaping projects, where he practiced a strong work ethic alongside his two sons, before injuries and illness prevented him from continuing those endeavors. After passing on his knowledge, skills and ethics, he became too disabled to keep on and finally retired in 2012. Adam’s health unfortunately declined after that and he went home to be with his Lord and Heavenly Father, on Friday, December 23, 2016.
Adam travelled to great heights during his lifetime and was unconditionally loved by his family and returned that same unconditional love. He moved mountains. He lived free with and loved Jesus in his heart and as his savior. He loved the Bible, reading and studying it every day. His life was full of loving memories, family and friends that will forever keep his spirit alive.
Adam was preceded in death by Vernon and Martha Reed, paternal grandparents, Della Mae Bryant, maternal grandparent and his loving niece, Kyrstin Weizenegger.
Adam was deeply loved and respected by many and will be sadly missed by all…
