Adah Mae Bauer, the daughter of Joseph and Eva (Cheney) Hutchinson, was born on February 9, 1926 near Sherwood, Iowa. On December 8, 1947 Adah was united in marriage with Lawrence “Bud” Bauer in Storm Lake, Iowa. She had worked at Don’s Laundry, for 33 years, retiring in 2000. Adah enjoyed crocheting hand towels, pot holders and afghans. She also enjoyed sewing and traveling with her sisters. Left to cherish Adah’s memory are her children, Jean Ann Orth of Sac City, Jim (Annie) Bauer of Lake Park, Kathy (Mike)Harmelink of Cherokee, Ruth (Jim) Tendal of Superior, Peggy (Steve) Levi of Spirit Lake and Gary Bauer of Spirit Lake; and daughter-in-law’s Janet Hutchinson of Sac City and Elaine Galbraith-Bauer of Marshall Minnesota; 24 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; three sisters, Norma (Arnold) Ripley of Sac City, Donnita Hicks of Sac City and Betty (Neil) Hanke of Topeka, KS; and a brother, Bob Hutchinson of Sac City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eva Hutchinson; husband Lawrence “Bud” Bauer; two son’s Edward Hutchinson and Larry Bauer; son-in-law Max Orth; brothers, Paul, Everett, Eugene, Virgil and Dick Hutchinson; and sisters Maurine Stanford and Charolette Moore.
