Aaron Matthews 42 passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at UNC Wayne Hospital in Goldsboro. He was born on October 23, 1979 to Glenwood Lee and Lula Darnell Matthews.
He received his education at Clinton City Schools, and later went to Job Corps. Aaron worked many jobs, but his last job was Golden Corral until his health declined.
Aaron was a loveable and outstanding young man to his family and friends. He was a very kind person and never met a stranger. He always had good words to say to everyone, always wore a smile and had a good sense of humor. He never complained and he always pressed his way through it all, giving the glory to God. Aaron was respectful and carried a positive attitude and enjoyed giving others compliments. He enjoyed his dogs, Life, Lucky, Little Bit, Princess and King. Aaron Matthews Known as “Da King” will be missed! Aaron is now singing “The Upper Room.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents, Lula E. and John Wesley Hemmingway and Step-grandfather Frank Smith. Paternal grandparents, Gennie Mae and Lloyd Matthews.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his son Aaron aka ‘Man” Matthews Jr. His mother, Lula D. Hemmingway. His father Glenwood Matthews. Brothers, John matthews (Georgette,’GiGi’) and Pernell Matthews. Lorraine Walker (Shawn). Special Nephew, Dai Dai. Special friends, Pete, Rebecca Melvin, Maurice, Coco and Jamel. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Brother, you left me beautiful memories. Your love is still my guide, and though I cannot see you, you are always by my side.
