Zula Belle Rebrook, 107 of Clarksburg, passed from her life’s journey to a home in Heaven on Friday, January 12, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 22, 1910 on a farm in Harrison County, WV; the daughter of the late Fred W and Beulah M (Shreves) Hamrick.
On August 23, 1927, Zula married Charles Ernest Rebrook and they became the parents of ten children, (five boys and five girls).
Zula is survived by three of her children, Nancy L. Lewis, Judith Sue Grove, Bradley P. Rebrook & his wife, Sarah all of Clarksburg; two daughter-in-laws, Georgia Rebrook, Clarksburg and Mary Rebrook, Parkersburg; two son-in-laws, Ronald Huffman, Clarksburg and Ray Grove, Baltimore, MD; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren; eighteen great great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Contrascere and Sophia Greynolds both of Clarksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Zula was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ernest Rebrook on January 30, 1975; seven children, JoAnne McIntyre and husband Jim, Robert W Rebrook, Donald E. Rebrook, Connie J. Huffman, Gloria “Charlene” Radcliff, Jerry C. Rebrook and wife Linda, infant son, David Larry Rebrook; her siblings, Maple Beer, Edra Bunch, Mildred Reid, Clyde Hamrick, Earl Hamrick, Richard Hamrick, Charles Hamrick and Carl Hamrick.
Zula, a Baptist by faith was a petite lady with a heart that had a bountiful supply of love that she showered on her family and friends. Zula’s daughter often said all the love her mother gave and received contributed greatly to her long life.
Zula had a green thumb and loved gardening.
Zula was the embodiment of humility with a forever memorable and endearing trait- “Her majestic Queen Elizabeth wave.”
Zula’s children send a heart-felt THANK YOU to Daisy Wolfe, the management and staff at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and all family members that contributed to her care.
As you often said Mom “We’ll meet you in the sweet bye and bye.”
