Zona Mae Kissick Shelley, age 86, of Colfax Road, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, at her residence.
Born June 23, 1932, in Hillsboro, she was a daughter of the late Henry Newton Kissick and Nannie Ezetta Spence Kissick. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; three brothers, Carl Kissick, John Wesley Kissick, and Homer Kissick; and two sisters, Lou Spurlock and Emma Pearl Kissick DeBord Burke.
Her husband, Willie Havens (W. H.) Shelley, also preceded her in death on April 9, 2000.
Mrs. Shelley is survived by her son, C. Herman Shelley and wife Virgie of Hillsboro; one brother, Ronald Kissick of Muncie, Indiana; two grandsons, Anthony Shelley and Nicholas Shelley and wife Jayla, all of Hillsboro; two great grandchildren, Harper and Connor Shelley, and expecting another in April 2019; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was the owner of W. H. Shelley Merchandise in Hillsboro for 67 years. Zona was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family.
