Zofia (Niemiec) Kostka, 89, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014. She was born in Poland on April 11, 1925 to the late Marcin and Elzbieta (Kurys) Niemiec. She made her home in New Britain with her late husband, Julian Kostka for many years. Zofia is survived by her children: Jan Kostka of Las Vegas, NV, Henry Kostka and his wife, Jadwiga of Cromwell and Danuta Zemla and her husband, Lech of Poland; grandchildren: Isabelle O’Brien and her husband, Dan of West Hartford, Tom Kostka of Rocky Hill, Paul Kostka of West Hartford, Mark Kostka of Washington D.C., Michael Kostka of Florida and Jacek Zemla of Poland; great-grandchildren: Finn and Tate O’Brien and Michael Kostka, Jr. She was predeceased by her son, Zbigniew Kostka.
