Zelma (Gibson) Sergent, 78, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died at Lakeland Community Hospital on November 17, 2011.Zelma was born April 10, 1933, in Rose Hill, Virginia to Willmer and Myrtle Lewis. She worked for many years as a seamstress at JMR Ruby in Michigan City. Zelma enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune. She crocheted everyday to make wonderful gifts for her family. Zelma loved her family and truly cherished her time spent with them, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Rose (Irwin McKenzie) Lee of New Buffalo and Roger (Susan) Gibson of Galien; daughter-in-law Analinda Gibson; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; partner Jimbo Hindes; her sister Irma May (Lewis) Smith of TN; her brother Charles Lewis of KY; and several nieces and nephews/She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Helen (Lewis) Mullins; her brother Melvin Lewis; her son Kenneth Gibson; her grandson Darin; her great-grandson Nicholas; and her husband Vinton Sergent.
