Zeke G. Bates, age 76, of Berryville, died Thursday November 29th 2012. He was born October 31st 1936 in Quinlan, Texas to the late Owen Murl Bates and Sadie Viola ( Monk ) Bates. On December 7th 1992 he was united in marriage to Margie Fay Stewart. They moved from TX to Carroll county “Osage area” over 21 years ago. Zeke was a member of Osage Baptist Church. He was a builder and master carpenter by trade. His hobbies were gardening, hunting, and training horses. He is survived by his wife Margie of the home, daughter, Janet Gail Gray, son, Richard Owen Bates and wife Donna, sisters, Betty Mariah Bates and husband Larry, and Willie Murl Bates, one brother, Delton Eugene Bates and wife Edith, three grandchildren, Billy Gray, Gary Gray, Leanne Gray, two great-grandchildren, uncle, , two aunts, Wanda Buck, and Eileen Smith. Zeke was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Benita Bates, and one grandson.
