YVONNE S. TODD, 84, Deming resident passed away Saturday April 9, 2016 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.
Yvonne was born June 25, 1931 in Alexandria, Minnesota to Ernest W. and Ida Fritz Schultz. She graduated from High School in 1949 in Hollywood, Florida and attended numerous reunions of that class, most recently the 60th reunion that was held in 2009. Yvonne married Melvin “Pete” Todd on June 6, 1950; they were married for 55 1/2 years until his death on January 4, 2006. Because of her husband’s Engineering Career they lived in many states including Florida, Ohio, Nebraska, North Dakota and California. They moved to Deming from California in 1986 where Yvonne was employed at Mimbres Memorial Hospital as an account receivable specialist until her retirement in 1996. She was an active member of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church where she participated at various times as member of Vestry, Altar Guild as well as office of treasurer.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie J. Smith of Deming; son, Melvin P. Todd Jr. and wife, Ellen of Capitola, CA;2 brothers, Daniel E. Schultz of Florida, Randall D. Schultz of Minnesota; 4 grandchildren, Christine (Carlyle) Asay, Richard (Alice) Carter all of Deming, James Dykes Jr. of CA, Erika (Troy) Tano of Boulder Creek, CA.; 8 great-grandchildren, Eric (Brandi) Carter of Utha, Ryan (Jessica) Thayne of Colorado, Amanda Thayne of Utah, Hannah Asay, Lauran Asay both of Deming, Clarissa Dykes, Christopher Dykes both of California, Melia Tano of Boulder Creek, CA and 7 great-great-grandchildren, Lilly Reigh Densley, Joey Barlow, Breannah Thayne, Jacksen Carter all of Utah, Paisley and Nicholas both of Deming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Foltz and Ernest Schultz, her husband, Pete Todd , step-father, Maurice Foltz and step-mother Elvina Schultz.
