Yvette H. Bergeron (nee Brunelle), 95, of East Linthicum, devoted wife of the late Lionel “Bucky” Bergeron and mother of the late Elaine C. McGee of Harmans, MD. She is survived by her daughter, Louise “Cookie” Hickman of Kent Island, MD; her wonderful caregiver of six years, Donna Tucker; three grandchildren, Dean Beacham, Donna Beacham and Laura Sowers; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Yvette passed away peacefully at her home in Linthicum on March 8, 2015. She grew up in Holyoke, MA and came to Baltimore in 1938 with her parents when Westinghouse closed its facility in Springfield, MA where her father and boyfriend at the time worked. Baltimore had openings, so here they came. She married that boyfriend in 1940 and worked at Westinghouse for over 20 years, remaining friends with many of her co-workers.
Yvette loved to knit and spend time with her friends playing the slots. She was married for 60 years and when she became a widow 15 years ago, she, her sister and oldest daughter were known as the “Golden Girls”. They entertained many along Annapolis Road in Baltimore Highlands. She loved to laugh and have a good time. She also loved to collect things and throughout her long life, she collected miniature dogs, salt and pepper shakers, owls, Carnival glass and ending in Victorian shoes. We don’t know what became of the miniature dogs and salt and pepper shakers, but several owls, shoes and glass are still around. Yvette’s still pretty face, perfect hair and sweet personality will be greatly missed by all who she touched in her many years.
