Dr. Yudaya Raju Sivathanu, 59, of West Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born March 7, 1962, in Trivandrum, India, to the late Sivathanu Arunachalam and late Agasthiar Annamalai. Yudaya graduated from the University of Michigan with a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering in 1990. On January 18, 2002, he married Deepa Divakaran. Together they have two children, Aditya and Asvin Sivathanu.
In 1994, Yudaya founded En’Urga Inc., a high-tech engineering research and consulting company. A statistician and scientist, Yudaya published over 100 journal and conference articles. He was a Senior Research Fellow of the American Statistical Association and an adjunct faculty at Purdue University.
Yudaya had an exemplary card sense, being an avid bridge, rummy, and poker player. Yudaya loved cooking delicious “spicy” meals for family and friends. To his friends and family, he was a humble and modest human being with an infectious, warm smile.
