Our beloved child of God, Youssef Hana Berdaakji born on October 17,1955 in Aleppo, Syria passed away at the age of 67 on the morning of December 15,2022 surrounded by his loving wife Madline and two daughters Mary and Carolyn Berdaakji at Englewood Hospital, Englewood, Nj. He was born to the parents of Hana and Marie Berdaakji and is survived by his younger brother Albert Berdaakji and sister Uznif Kerdo as well as many cousins and extended family around the world.
Youssef was a kind man with a gentle soul who loved to learn, read his newspapers, travel, watch his Arabic news on satellite, and play backgammon with his buddies. He was loved deeply and will be remembered as being a patient and understanding man who greeted you with a big warm smile. He was more than a husband, father, or a member of the community, he was your best friend. He was known to be there to lend a shoulder to lean on or an ear to talk to, share a wise story or a funny joke to make you laugh and forget your troubles.
He was a dedicated and dutiful family man and kept his family and values close to his big heart. He adored his wife and two daughters, as well as his friends/family, and Syrian Christian Orthodox faith dearly and will be deeply missed for the blessing he was to all of us on earth.
