Yolanda Lockhart passed away April 14, 2017 “Good Friday” due to complications from a short illness. Mom was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil and was a Special Education teacher in her country. She married Glenn Lockhart and came to the United States in 1959. Mom lived in Arizona before permanently moving to Merritt Island, Florida in 1965.

Mom became a hairdresser, but left after injuring her back in a car accident. She later became a Certified Nursing Assistant and cared for the elderly at Merritt Manor Nursing Home. Though the work was extremely difficult, this career became her passion as she enjoyed helping her patients. Mom had a very kind heart and often befriended those who were less fortunate.

At an earlier age, mom enjoyed traveling and dancing. She also enjoyed going to the movies. Comedies were one of her favorites. Mom’s grandsons Garrett and Logan were a very big part of her life. She enjoyed attending their school and sporting events. Mom loved them with all her heart!

“We Love and miss you Mom”
