Mr. Woodie T. Wood, Sr., 88, of Newnan passed away Friday, January 23, 2015. He was born July 27, 1926 in Newnan to the late David Monroe Wood & Annie Bertha Yarbrough Wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Millians Wood and sisters, Catherine Wood Duncan, Bertie Wood Fann, and Ruth Wood Kerr.
Mr. Wood served in the Army during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient.
Survivors include daughters, Vicki (Frank) Barron, Nora Ann Wood; son, Woodie T. Wood, Jr.; grandchildren, Jennie (Bob) Blackburn, Vic (Kim) Ivery, Jess Barron, Cynthia Ann (Aaron) Gray, Madison Wood, Trey Wood; and great-grandchildren, Matt Blackburn, Tori Blackburn, Caydence Gray, Christian Gray.
