Wolfgang Witz, beloved husband, brother, father, and friend, passed away on April 1, 2023, in Raleigh, North Carolina, due to complications related to pneumonia. He was 79 years old.
Wolfgang was born on June 12, 1943, in Breslau, east side of Germany, now belongs to Poland. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with double majors in Physics and Philosophy. Wolfgang was a pen function specialist for the stationery and cosmetic industry, holding 13 US/international patents dealing with fluid delivery systems.
Wolfgang had a passion for astronomy, and he enjoyed photography, traveling, listening to classical music, and indulging in gourmet food.
Wolfgang’s father passed away in Germany during World War II. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hildegard Sufeida, his stepfather, Michael Minzak, and his sister, Sigrid Burn. He is survived by his wife, Wenfo, brother Klaus, sister Gisela, half-sister Usula Acalin, half-brother Mark Minzak, and biological son Stephan.
Wolfgang will be deeply missed by all who know him. He will be remembered for his intellectual curiosity, creativity, and kind-hearted nature.
