My name is Winston Sarver, my friends call me Sarve, Win or Bud.  I began my journey February 3, 1936 in Huntington, West Virginia.  I was born the son of Elizabeth Kincaid and Winston Sarver who precede me in death.  I was the oldest of two sibling sisters, Joyce Sarver Schweck and Patricia Sarver Smith.  I grew up in Westmoreland an area within Huntington, West Virginia and spent my entire life as a proud West Virginian.
After graduating from Vinson High School, I entered Marshall College that is now known as Marshall University.  A short time later I decided to join the U.S. Air Force where I proudly served my country.
My wife of 59 years, Diane Campbell Sarver and I were blessed with two daughters Tamberlin (Tammy) Sarver and Trina Sarver Bolognini.  Tammy and Trina gave me two granddaughters and two grandsons, Cheyenne Stallings, Shawnee Stallings, Jaiden Bologini and Gyvan Bolognini.  I loved life, cherished my family, my friends and I am fortunate to have lived the life I did.
I retired as Captain of the Cocoa Beach Police Department a profession that I loved, while there I graduated from the FBI Academy, earned a Bachelors and Masters degree from Rollins College.
I am thankful for my wife and family and on November 27, 2018, I finished my journey.  Do not grieve for me but be happy that after 82 years I have fought the fight, ran the race and reached the finish line.  I will be waiting for all of you.
