Winona Louise Rountree-Ridaught, 99 years old, moved on to Heaven of natural causes on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, with her family by her side, in her home in Florahome, Fl. She was born on August 11, 1921, in Johnson FL. She spent her adult life raising her 7 children with her late husband Harold L. Ridaught in Keystone Heights FL.
She is preceded in death by her father Howard Asa Rountree of Johnson FL, her mother Naomi Mary Perry of Melrose FL, her siblings-Susie Elizabeth Raines of Jacksonville Fl, Alice Marie Goodson of Sneads Fl, Emra Thomas “Stump” Rountree of Athens TN, George Crosley Rountree of Johnson Fl, Howard Alvin Rountree of Athens TN and her oldest grand-daughter Tonda Jo Dotson-Sparks of Keystone Heights FL.
She is survived by her 7 children listed from oldest to youngest-Harold L Ridaught Jr. (Evelyn Ridaught) of Gulfport MS, Joann O’Grady (John Jack O’Grady-deceased) of Keystone Heights FL, Kathy Scates (Norbert Scates-deceased) of Keystone Heights FL, Sandy Roberts (Perman Roberts) of Gainesville FL, Viola Paul (Rodney Paul) of Keystone Heights FL, Leola Sipprell-Johnson (Barry Johnson-deceased) of Florahome FL, June Cassala (Frank Cassala-deceased) of Palm Coast FL, 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren, multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was a homemaker while her late husband, Harold, retired as District Manager with approx. 40 years employment with Clay Electric in Palatka FL. She was an amazing cook. She loved gardening, sewing, and attending church. She was baptized at the age of 7 and attended Woodlawn Baptist Church in Hawthorne FL. She taught Sunday school for many years and regularly volunteered for church-affiliated events. She was known as the sweetest woman alive to everyone that knew her. The love and sweetness of Jesus radiated from her. Her legacy of faith, family, and patriotism will forever live on through those she dearly loved.
