Winona Janice “Jan” Kimble, 79, of Hillsboro and formerly of Springfield and Jacksonville, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 15, 1937, in Litchfield, the daughter of Willard and Thelma Grubbs Wathern.
She is survived by her mother, Thelma Saye of Raymond; step-brother, Elmo R. (Joanie) Saye of Fargo, ND; aunt, Vivian Isenhower of Phoenix, AZ; one niece and one nephew, Cathie (Terry) Downey and Mark (Cheri) Wathern, both of Raymond; cousin Sandra (Bob) John of Phoenix, AZ; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, David Wathern; and step-father, Elmo Saye.
Ms. Kimble was a graduate of Mt. Olive High School. She was employed by the State of Illinois for over 20 years and also served as an officer with the Springfield Auxiliary Police Department. Jan was a member of the Jacksonville Moose. She enjoyed bowling, country music, and bingo.
