Winona A. Spanner, age 77, residing in Boise, Idaho, died August 9, 2014 in Meridian, Idaho.
Winona was born August 25, 1936 in Grantsville, Utah to Clarence and Ada Moultrie. She was thirteenth of fourteen children. Her family moved several times until they ended up in Kalama, Washington where she graduated from Kalama High School in 1954. She married her childhood sweetheart, Peter M. Spanner, March 12, 1955. Winona and Pete celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this past March. They spent six years in England, two years in Idaho, four years in California, and 15 years in Texas before moving back to Idaho in October of 1981. Winona worked for State Farm Insurance until she retired in 1993, after which they traveled to Europe, Italy, Greece, Mexico, Caribbean and Alaska.
She is survived by her husband, Pete, and four children: daughter, Joni and husband David James; daughter, Gale and husband Brad Ellsworth; son, Deken Spanner; and son, Andrew and Gloria Spanner. Winona has 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and 12 step-great grandchildren. Winona is also survived by four brothers, Roy Moultrie, Leo and Donna Moultrie, Gene and Dorothea Moultrie, Francis Moultrie; one sister, Norma and husband Quintin Moody; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
