Winifred Linsemier, 93, of Galien, Michigan died Friday afternoon, November 8, 2013 at Country Manor Care Center in Bridgman, Michigan. Winifred was born October 3, 1920 in Bridgman, Michigan to Edward and Emilie (Nimtz) Phillips. She attended California School, Bridgman and graduated in 1938 from Bridgman.

Winifred married Lyle H. Linsemier in 1940 and they made their home in Galien. Although she was a substitute mail carrier and also attained her Real Estate License, her main concern was caring for her home and family. Winifred enjoyed cooking, baking bread, gardening, reading and craft projects. She crocheted many beautiful afghans and was an avid painter.

Survivors include her children, Lyle Linsemier Jr of Brethren, Michigan, Carol (Rex) Ashcraft of Three Oaks, Michigan and Laurelle (Mike) White of Reynolds, Indiana; grandchildren, Stacey, Brandi, Rexalee, James, Todd, Tristan and Samantha; great grandchildren Dakota, Brandon, Jason, Trent, Kyle, Nicholas, Marty and Aiden; her great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her husband preceded her in death in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her great grandson, James; sisters Dora, Margaret, Thelma, Ruth and Gladys and brothers Oscar, Art, Standard and Edward Jr.
