Winifred Kerr Grimsley, age 103, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Fountain View of Portage, Michigan. Winifred was born March 3, 1916, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Leslie and Ruth (Williams) Kerr. She was a lifelong Dayton area resident until relocating to the Kalamazoo area for the past 13 years. On July 10, 1936, she was united in marriage to Virgil Philip Grimsley. As a full-time homemaker, she excelled at pie-baking and sewing. As a part-time realtor, she was a member of the Dayton Board of Realty, working for Rutmann-Copher Builders in Dayton and Trotwood, Ohio. Winifred also was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Kettering, Ohio.
Winifred was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Virgil P. Grimsley on March 27, 1996. She was also preceded by her daughter Sally Ann Grimsley; her parents; and sister Yetive Fortin.
Surviving are her two daughters Pamela and husband John Wehmeyer, Polly and husband Randy Graham; three grandchildren Ann Wehmeyer, Eric Wehmeyer (George Carleton), Whitney Graham (Christopher Alex); three great-grandchildren Andrew Bliss, Wallis Alex, and Archer Alex.
