Winfield Scott Ingersoll, 64
Ft. Pierce- Winfield Scott Ingersoll age 64, husband, father, grandfather, and friend went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 14, 2021, after a brief illness. Win was known for his sense of humor, friendliness, and love for building and racing stock cars.
Although Win was born in Lewiston, Maine, he was raised from a very young age in Okeechobee, Florida. As an adult he lived for a time in Gainesville, Fl. and then Massachusetts as well as in Ft. Pierce, Fl. until his passing.
Win was part of a family that loved racing. Along with his brothers and dad, he spent many nights at local racetracks and many afternoons and evenings working on their latest racing vehicles. Somehow, as he got older, that never changed for Win. He always loved getting his next car ready to go, swapping out parts, and looking for that ultimate combination that makes a winning race car.
Win was a person who, like his dad and brothers, could fix any kind of machine and make it run. He used his ability many times to help others in need. He also loved to encourage people to follow the Lord. He was truly a street preacher and was always letting people know that God was a major part of his life.
He loved his children and was proud of the adults that they became. He wanted them to know that -even when he became very sick at the end and expressed it to those he reached out to.
He was preceded in death by his father; Robert Gerald Ingersoll, younger brother; Van Albert Ingersoll, and Step-brother; David Sparks. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 8 years; Maggie Ingersoll of Ft. Pierce, Fl., Step-children Nelsi Mendoza and Nelson Mendoza, Mother; Arlene Campbell and Step-Father; Carl Campbell of Interlachen, Fl.
