Wilton Junior Lowery, a life-long resident of Semmes, Alabama passed away peacefully at home, November 12, 2017 at the age of 90, surrounded by family. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Philippines. He was a member of Semmes First Baptist Church. He retired from the Mobile County School System. He loved hunting and farming. He was an avid Braves baseball fan. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Mr. Lowery is preceded in death by his parents, Wilton F. and Katie Lowery, and his sister, Betty Lowery Parker. He is survived by his wife; Edna Verdelia McElhany Lowery, three sons; Wilton Jerry (Betty) Lowery, Kevin Andrew Lowery, Mark D. (Darlene) Lowery, four grandchildren; Jenifer (Stephen) Dees, Adam (Amber) Lowery, Lauren (Art) Bowling, and Andrea Lowery; eight great grandchildren; Fulton, Turner and Mason Dees, Rhett and Mark Bowling, Wyatt, Abby, and Sadie Lowery, and one nephew Ronnie (Debbie) Parker, as well as other relatives and friends.
