Ms. Wilma Voorhies, 86, died March 21, 2007, at Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs. She was born March 26, 1920, in Eufaula, Okla.
Wilma worked at George’s Restaurant for many years. She had a great personality and considered her customers her family. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and cooking. She was very talented with her hands. Wilma’s favorite times of the year were Easter and Christmas. She traveled to Dallas twice a year for a sister retreat. Wilma was a selfshy;-sufficient, fiesty lady.
Survivors include two brothers, C.B. Stubblefield of Corpus Christi, Texas, and H.O. Stubblefield of Wofford Heights, Calif; two sisters, VaLera Edison of Houston and Reba Patterson of Cedar Hills, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
