Wilma V. (Leaf) Battice, age 89 of Midland died at her residence, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, August 8, 2009. The daughter of the late Robert and Viola (Redcliff) Leaf was born on July 17, 1920 in Detroit, MI. On May 1, 1945 she married Robert Battice in Midland. During WWII she worked in a shop and later was a surgical technician and did private duty nursing. She was active on the committee to bring fluoridated water to Bay County. Wilma was an active member and Past Worthy Matron of the Midland Order of Eastern Star Chapter #121, and Past Royal Matron of the Order of the Amaranth, Charity Court #21. Wilma enjoyed golfing, cooking, reading and was a great story teller and homemaker.

Wilma is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert Battice, sharing an unconditional love for each other. She is also survived by her children, Marvel Colosky of Mio, David (Bonnie) Battice of Prudenville, Bobbie (Ron) Lukowski of Midland, Arlene (Mike) Beckton of Portage; sisters-in-law, Helen Leaf and Joan Leaf both of Mio; sixteen grandchildren; and thirty seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Walter and Rodney.
