Wilma Shelton was born January 6, 1921 to Ray and Carrie Shelton on the Shelton farm east of Norwood in Lucas County, Iowa.
She graduated from Norwood High School in 1939 and graduated from Simpson College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1966.
She worked for the ASCS office in Chariton from 1958 to 1960.
She retired from teaching in 1985.
She was part of the Chariton Women’s Club, Lucas County Retired School Personnel; Lucas County Hospital Auxiliary and the Lucas County Historical Museum.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, N. Berniece Crawford Hass, Lois Marilyn and an infant sister.
She is survived by her brother, Vernon (Thelma) Shelton of Waukee; nieces and nephews Donald (Frances) Crawford, Carol (Dave) Peregoy, Karen Hass, Sheri Shelton, Douglas (Brenda) Shelton and Trisha (Rob) Gray and 5 great nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
Wilma passed away July 8, 2013 at Legacy Lodge in Chariton.
