Wilma L. Miner, 76, of Virginia, IL and formerly of Galesburg, passed thru Heaven’s Gate Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at her daughter’s residence in Virginia.

She was born May 8, 1934, in New Cambria, MO, the daughter of Ora and Hattie Prather Howard. Her family moved to Illinois when she was a small child. She married Leo Nolan Miner on June 14, 1952 in Macomb and he preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1992.

She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie (Charles) Crawford of Bloomington, Rebecca (Garrett) Miller of Bentonville, VA, and Tamara (Tom) Osmer of Virginia; twelve grandchildren, Chris (Jill) Crawford, Mandi (Kevin) Smith, Corey (Jaime) Miner, Brent Miner, Tyler (Codie) Miller, Garrett Nolan (Angie) Miller, Bryce (Jessica) Miller , Elise (Brandon) Hendricker , Breanna and Luke Osmer, and Jacob and Jarod Robeson; fifteen great-grandchildren, Joslyn, Olivia, Jonna, Mark, Anna, Reese, Chloe, Layla, Nicholas, Ryan, Layla, Nolan, Hannah, Emily and Aubrey; two brothers, Kenny(Marie)Howard of Avon and James(Judith)Howard of Elmwood; three sisters, Rita Nichols of Knoxville, Lettie Sloan of Avon and Patsy Fox of Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mark Nolan; three brothers, Ronnie (surviving wife, Kathy), Lloyd and Elmer (surviving wife, Marjorie) Howard; and four sisters, Lottie, Frances, Retha, and Elizabeth.

Mrs. Miner worked at Maytag for 30 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Galesburg and was currently attending First Presbyterian Church in Virginia where she was active in the Service Guild. She loved spending time with her family and friends and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her twelfth great-granddaughter who will be arriving on Dec. 28, 2010.
