WASHINGTON?Wilma Jean (Grimes) Gaumer, 89, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Winchester Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, MA.
She was born on September 12, 1923 in Oakville, Iowa to Ervin Andrew and Lora Belle (King) Grimes. Wilma married Ralph Edward Gaumer on March 2, 1946 in Peoria.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Randy Lou; her sisters, Doris (Grimes) Brockert and Maye (Grimes) Heiniger and her brothers, Louis Grimes and Harold Grimes.
Among those surviving Wilma are three sons, Gary (Cinda) of Winchester, MA, Daniel (Karen) of Decatur, IL and Richard (Paula) of Sturgeon Bay, WI. She is also grandmother to nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Wilma graduated from Oakville High School in Iowa. Prior to marriage she worked for the General Telephone Company in Peoria.
Wilma and Ralph moved to Washington from Peoria in 1950.
