Wilma Frances Nelson McNeill, 82, of Yemassee, South Carolina, and formerly of Palatka, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at home following a brief illness. Born and raised in Seville, Wilma graduated from Seville High School in 1957. She later moved to Palatka where she served as the office manager at Putnam Memorial Nursing Home for over 20 years. In her leisure time, Wilma enjoyed music, puzzles, flowers, and sitting on her porch watching nature. She also truly enjoyed time spent with her family and especially her grandchildren. Wilma was a member of River Road Baptist Church in Palatka.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Nelson and Beulah Mew Nelson, a daughter, Sheila Kelly, a son, Wayne Lamar McNeill, Jr. and 6 brothers, Carroll Nelson, Lonnie Nelson, Dale “Butch” Nelson, Alton “Preacher” Nelson, Dickie Nelson and Lloyd Nelson.

Wilma is survived by a daughter, Veronica Stephens (David) of Yemassee, SC, 2 sons, Doyal Murphy and Nicholas “Shannon” McNeill, both of Palatka, a sister, Jean Mills of Federal Point, 7 grandchildren, Joab Stephens, Abel Stephens, Brandon Williamson, Dylan Murphy, Dianna Murphy, Danyal Murphy and Nicholas McNeill, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including a special nephew, Nick Nelson who was like a son to her.
