Wilma Florence (Goracke) Cacek, 101 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on a farm near Virginia on July 23, 1916 to Vincent and Anna (Fisher) Goracke. Wilma grew up in the Virginia area. She graduated from Virginia High School in 1934. After marrying Eugene Cacek on July 24, 1937, they moved to Beatrice for 7 years before moving back to Virginia. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #367, former 4-H leader and played piano in a band for 8 years. Wilma painted murals at a lot of different places including banks, churches, the senior citizen center and residences. She also did copper tooling, foiling plaster of paris objects and making sequin calendars and marble lamps.

Wilma is survived by her son, Wayne and wife Betty of Burchard; daughter, LaDonna Thomas of Sterling; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; 5 step great great grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Fritch of Cameron, Missouri; She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene on March 28, 1997; grandsons, Tony Cacek and Brett Thomas; son-in-law, Gaylord Thomas; brother, Alvin Goracke and wife Dorothy; and brother-in-law, Arnold Fritch.
