Wilma Clark passed away on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, but her memory will remain in our hearts forever. She missed reaching her 97th birthday by only a couple of weeks.
Wilma was the second oldest of five children born to Austen White and Emma (Stein) White, all of whom are deceased.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Bob) Clark, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Lyall Clark, Kewanna; two granddaughters, Kristina (KC) Epposon, Michigan, and Stefanie Clark, New Jersey; and three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Nickolas and Payten.
Her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her, and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them.
Wilma had a great love for animals. She fed every stray cat and bird that came to her house.
Though she was born, raised and lived in Logansport, she loved her time she spent at her cottage on Lake Bruce. With assistance, she was able to live on the lake she loved for the majority of her last four years.
She loved to travel, whether it was a short trip or long trip, by car, train, plane, boat, golf cart or scooter. The destination didn’t seem to matter as much as the ride.
It would take a large book to accurately describe all of Wilma’s travels of the heart and body, but suffice it to say, she lived a very full life and lived it on her terms. There wasn’t much on this earth she didn’t get to do.
As Wilma moves from this life to the next, her commanding voice can be heard to say “Fire Away,” and she’s off again.
