Wilma Carolyn Burkgren was born on March 30, 1925, on a farm southwest of Dayton, IA, the daughter of Obed and Inez (Carlson) Burkgren. She attended Dayton Public School, graduating in 1943. She went on to attend Toben Business College and was later employed in AAA-Agricultural office and Fort Dodge Laboratories.

Wilma is survived by her sons Alan Aspholm of Manson, IA; and Lynn (Cathy) Aspholm of Cornelius, OR; daughter Rona Aspholm; grandchildren Kyle, Jillian, Theodore, and Eric; great grandchildren Annabella, LeRoy, Gaven, Draken, and Juniper Moon; her brother Robert Burkgren of LaPorte City, IA; and sisters Irma Licht of Fort Dodge, IA and Kate Zoss of Des Moines, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul who died on July 17, 2013; and her brothers Marvin, Omar, Calvin and Dr. Donald Burkgren.
Wilma was active in St. Paul ELCW working in LWR Quilts and Kids. She was a former member of the Manson Garden Club and Manson Women’s Club. She also worked with Paul in the excavating company, doing errands and bookkeeping.
