Williston “Bud” M. Holbert Jr., 75, of Plymouth passed away peacefully at home on July 23,2021, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.Williston, affectionately known as “Bud”, was born on September 2, 1945, in Taunton MA, tothe late Reverend Williston M. Holbert Sr and Emily (Lopes Perry) Holbert of Norton. In 1983,he lost his first wife, Judith D. (Pina) Holbert of Taunton. Bud was the devoted husband ofJanice A. (Byrnes) Holbert for the last 37 years. He was the supportive and caring father toStefani A. Holbert and Kristen J. (Holbert) Colón, both of Plymouth, as well as Natalie N. (Welch)Donovan of Stoughton, MA. He was the loving Papa to Chadd, Chase and Jamal Jackson, Jaydenand Jalyn Colón and Liam and Tony Donovan. Bud was the brother of the late Richard HolbertSr., Cynthia (Holbert) Williams and her husband Floyd of Hanover, Cheryl (Holbert) Locke andher husband Ronald of Jacksonville, FL and David Holbert of Sandwich. He also leavesnumerous cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.Williston was a man of strong faith and was a loyal servant to the Lord. He grew up in hisfather’s Baptist Church. Bud was a caring, loving, spiritual, funny and honest man. A naturalborn leader, mentor, provider, and confidant, he led by example and provided guidance andthoughtful advice to everyone that knew him. He loved his family, always placing them as histop priority. He made sure everyone knew that they were his pride and joy. Bud ensured hisfamily and friends always felt his love.Williston was a member of the United States Air Force, serving as a member of the MilitaryPolice, stationed in North Dakota providing security at the Silo Missle sites. After serving 4years in the Air Force, he in 1967 and returned to Massachusetts. Williston eventually found hiscalling in the world of Sales. He began at the Research Institute of America as the youngestsales person ever hired and quickly advanced to National Sales Manager. After 15 years withRIA, he moved on to John Hancock Financial Services, working as a Financial Advisor and SalesManager. He loved his clients, ensuring they had all they needed to meet their goals. He builtlongstanding relationships with them, with many of them eventually becoming his he became ill, one of his biggest concerns was about his clients. He wanted to make surethat they would continue to be taken care of in the way that he always had..While residing in Plymouth for over 45 years, Williston was an active member of thecommunity, serving as that President of the Plymouth Public Library Foundation, a member ofboth the Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club.
