At the age of 81 years, Willis Mundt went to his new Home to be with his Lord. He was born and raised in Deshler, NE, where he was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. For several years the family also lived in California. He attended St. John’s Academy and Junior College in Winfield, KS, and Valpariso University. He served in the military for 4 years during the Korean War, in the Navy Hospital Corp, attached to the Marines. He resumed his education at the University of Nebraska and the Nebraska Medical School, interned at the old Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, was a resident at University of Nebraska Medical Center, and completed post-graduate work at Stanford University. He met his future wife, Dorothy, while they were both students at the University of Nebraska. They were married at the University Lutheran Chapel in Lincoln, NE. Willis went into practice with Radiology Nuclear Medicine, Inc. in Omaha, with his main practice being at Bishop Clarkson Hospital. He was an active member of Pacific Hills Lutheran Church in Omaha, and later, during retirement, at Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior in Green Valley, AZ, holding a number of positions. He was particularly active in the music program, playing piano, organ, and hand bells, and singing in the choir. After retiring he also joined the Green Valley Community Chorus where he was a member for 22 years. Willis was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Beata, his twin brother Werner, sister-in-law Margaret Roth, and nephew Rick Mundt. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, daughter Carla, son Philip, sister-in-law Dorothy Mundt, brother-in-law Delmer Roth, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
