Willis Lee Cumberledge, 81, of Jane Lew, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Veteran’s Nursing Facility. He was born November 11, 1932 in Marshville, the son of the late Paul Cumberledge and Zeppah Smith Cumberledge. He was preceded in death by his wife Arleta Lynch Cumberledge whom he married November, 1955.
Willis is survived by two daughters; Jaunita and Gavin Cornett of Winchester, VA and Melanie and Francis Prunty of Salem, WV; two sons; James O. Cumberledge of Sandysville, WV and Herbert L. and Lena Cumberledge of Jane Lew, WV; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; three brothers; Charles Cumberledge of Fairmont, WV and Mike Cumberledge of Geneva, OH and Bob Scheuvront of Clarksburg, WV.
In addition to his parents and wife, Willis was preceded in death by two sisters; Barbara Sue Scheuvront and Rosmary Cienawski; step-father; Lawrence Scheuvront and Step-mother; Gladys Cumberledge.
He was retired as a supervisor with Pittsburgh Tube Co. and was a farmer. Willis was a United States Veteran having served in the Marines during Korea. He was a member of the American Legion and Coin Club of Clarksburg. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and golfing. He also loved animals, especially horses.
