Willis D. “Willie” Phillips, 71, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home. Willie was born February 11, 1947 in Centralia, the son of John W. Phillips and Eleanor Ruth (Stone) Phillips.

Willie is survived by two daughters: Sara Phillips of Salem and Angela Scrivner and husband Daniel of Belle Rive; eight grandchildren: Hailey Phillips of Florissant, MO, Saegan Phillips of Salem, Britney Giacone and husband John of West Frankfort, Steven Rollinson and wife Brandy of Troy, Alexis Rollinson and special friend Adam Hurst of Mt. Vernon, Bethanie Scrivner of Belle Rive, Madison Scrivner of Belle Rive, and Gabriel Scrivner of Belle Rive; five great grandchildren: Sierra, Hunter, Archer, Ryder, Piper; four brothers and sisters: Bonnie Dickenson and husband Dave of Centralia, Terry Pitchford of Centralia, Dean and Kathy Phillips of Minnesota, Danny and Leann Phillips of Centralia; several Nieces and Nephews. Willie was preceded in death by his parents: John and Ruth Phillips and a sister: Peggy Combs. Willie was a member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia.

He was a former police officer in Central City, then worked as a Sergeant for Wamac for over 32 years before retiring. He was a past member of the Central City Lions Club. Most of all, family was very important to Willie and he cherished each moment with them.
