Mrs. Ruth Carroll Thompson, age 93, went to meet her heavenly Father Friday, September 4, 2015. She was born November 28, 1921 in Carroll County to the late Claude Carroll and Maudie Harper Carroll. Memaw was the matriarch of 5 generations. She was a strong willed loving, wife, mother, 2nd mother, grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt, cousin and most of all friend. She influenced all of her generations with her strong Christian moral values. Memaw always had a garden of love in her heart. She was loved by many and always returned the love. Everyone that ever came to know her became part of the family and from that point on called her Memaw. She always kept the most inviting home. Along with her parents Ruth is preceded in death by her husband James Wesley Thompson and brothers Curtis Harper, Clyde Carroll and Duma Carroll. She is survived by children Veronica Allen, Gary Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Darrell Thompson, Jacqueline Annette Nash and Rhonda Thompson. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
