Will Garcia passed away peacefully on October 23, 2016.
He is survived by his life partner Nancy Munch of Rio Rancho, mother Alice of Albuquerque, sister Sadie and husband Gene of Albuquerque, niece Natalee, and nephew Tim.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Garcia and sister Loretta Rascon.
Will was a 1974 graduate of Manzano High School, helping the Monarchs win back to back state championships in boys’ basketball in 1973 and 1974. He followed his coach Mike Martin to Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he played basketball and graduated in 1978. After college, he entered the business world and he excelled in sales. In his spare time, he donated his energy to coaching basketball at Del Norte and West Mesa High Schools. In 1994 the Mustangs were state runner ups. He also coached many young players every summer in the Albuquerque AAU basketball community. Will was an avid fisherman and lived life to the fullest. We will miss his high energy and positive outlook on life.
