Willie Rayborn “Ray” Tinch, 79, of Anderson, passed away on January 13, 2021, at his residence.
He was born on Saturday, April 12, 1941, in Livingston, Tennessee to the late Melvin Tinch and Mattie (Hammock & Tinch) Knopp. He married his wife, Claudean Tinch on March 21, 1959, in Putnam County, TN. Ray was a member of Valley Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He was the owner/operator of Ray Tinch & Son Construction for over 40 years. He loved to work with his hands. He would take a classic car that you would never think that anyone could do anything with and make it look like a gem. He had amazing talent when it came to building and restoring things. He enjoyed going to car shows and spending time with his family.
Willie is survived by his loving wife of 61.5 years, Claudean Tinch; daughter, Debbie Sue (Jeff) Flath of Anderson; granddaughter, Jennifer (Andrew) Walters of Arizona; four great-granddaughters, Natalee, Emma, GraceLynn, and Mckinlee Walters of Arizona; grandson, Bobby (Becca) Tinch; great-grandson, Liam; granddaughter, Breanna (Marcus) Miller; three sisters, Frances (Kenny) Woods of Anderson, Bettie Ruth Eldridge of TN, and Bonnie Dixon of TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bobby Dale Tinch; grandson, Bobby Dale Tinch Jr.; three brothers, Melvin “Junior” Tinch, RC Tinch, and SM Tinch; one sister in law, Rosa Tinch; two brothers in law, James Dixon and John Eldridge; and his stepdad, Chester Knopp.
