Willie Mae was born on August 28, 1947 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late William Lankford Jr. and Isabella Holland Lankford. She attended Lakeside High School. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Union Grove P.B. Church, where she served faithfully in the Senior Choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Isabella Lankford Jr., two brothers; John William Lankford and Oneal Lankford; two sisters, Christine Freeman and Maletha Gholston.
She leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Leon Ricks of Birmingham; son, Ronald Matthews (Angel) of Decatur; three daughters, Felicia Stovall (Dexter Crutcher) of Athens, Jacqueline Matthews Moore (Eric) and Christy Matthews (Wylinzey Grace) both of Decatur; one stepson, Jamie Smith (Evette) of Hillsboro; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie Langford (Margaret) of Decatur and the Reverend John Cable (Veronica) of Pulaski, TN; one sister, Shelia Iyobebe of Montgomery; two aunts, Lunvenger Pickett of Pulaski, TN and Merlene Holland of Decatur; four brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
