Willie Lewis Garvin, Sr., 83, of Reevesville, husband of Ida Lee Garvin, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. George Health Care Center.
Willie was born on May 14, 1934 in Walterboro, a son of the late, Willie Lewis and Mabel Hoats Garvin. He was a graduate of Hendersonville High School, served in the US Air Force and retired from the St. George School bus shop as a mechanic. He was a member of Reevesville Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and Sunday School superintendent.
Surviving is his wife, Ida Lee Nettles Garvin; a son, Willie Lewis Garvin, Jr., Reevesville; a daughter, Ruth Ann (Rex) Wimberly, St. George; a step-son, Mike (Kathy) Pool; a step-daughter, Cindy (Charlie) Mock; grandchildren, Rex Allen (Stephanie) Wimberly, Crystal (Scottie) Joyner, Heather Garvin, Leslie (Mark) Hammond, Nicole Garvin, Chastity (Erick) Williams, Shawn (Nicole) Pool, Beverly (Chase) Pool, Richard (Kimberly) Mock, Eric (Ashley) Mock, Christin (Strait) Lyle; great-grandchildren, Rex Allen Wimberly, Katelyn Mae Wimberly, Alexis Marie Jeffers, Jackson Jeffers, Lindsey Williams, Justin Williams, Mason Sineath, Caroline Mock, Kaylee Harvey, Hayden Mock and South Lyle; a brother, Robert Carroll (Patsy) Garvin; sisters, Rosa O’Quinn, Marylou Grossie, all of Hendersonville; Laura (Charles) Risher, Walterboro; and an uncle, Levi (Gilda) Hoats.
