Mr Willie James Scotton was born February 20, 1920 to Ida Reynolds and William Clarence Scotton. He was self-employed as a Brick-Mason, having learned the trade from his uncle Norma Alston. Bill took great pride in his masonry craft, using his stonework skills to help First Missionary Baptist Church.
He was united in holy matrimony to Kathryn Headen, December 3, 1939 and to this union 5 children were born. He was preceded in death by wife Kathyrn, son Billy, infant daughter Debra and brothers Howard, Jessie, Joseph and John Scotton. Left to cherish his memory are daughter Amber Horton, sons Clarence, Lawrence, Michael (all of Siler City), as well as sisters Martha Jane Brown and Ida Ruth Battle (Maryland), Mary Winfield, Ruby Brockton and Rebecca Snipes (NC). He leaves 17 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill served as a trustee at First Missionary Baptist Church and he was also a member of the Light of the World Lodge 711 Siler City, NC.
