Willie Gene Bell, 61, of 810 W. Cleveland Ave., died at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday (July 17, 2007) at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
He was born Oct. 25, 1945, in Mattson, Miss. to Fred and Mary (Wilson) Bell.
He is survived by two sons, Dean (Stephanie) Coleman of Elkhart and Michael (Ashanti) Love of Mishawaka; two daughters, Jocelyn Coleman and Veronica Taylor, both of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Ronnie Webb of Lansing, Mich., Doug Bolen of Carson City, Mich., Oliver Bolen of Shelby, Miss., and Jimmie Bolen of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and four sisters, Mary Simpson and Annie Mack both of Elkhart, Jurlene Nettles of Greenville, Miss., and Linda Ricks of Pontiac, Mich.
Mr. Bell worked at Goshen Rubber and Manchester Tank before retiring from Elkhart Foundry where he worked for many years. He was a memer of Calvary Temple Church of God in Christ. Mr. Bell was very sociable and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
