Willie Edward Jackson, a native of Barlow Bend and a resident of Mobile, better known to family and friends as “Catfish,” was born on Jan. 12, 1951 to Minnie and Memphis Jackson Sr. Willie traded time for eternity on Jan. 27, 2021 while at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. Early in life he united with Union Chapel Baptist Church in Barlow Bend. After relocating to Mobile, he united with Greater Narzeree Baptist Church. He was employed at Mobile Housing Board for many years until his retirement, where he was known throughout his work place as a great worker.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Memphis Jackson Jr.; sister, Sara Lee Pickens; and two nephews, Larry Pickens and Charlie McGaster. 

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 47 years, Betty Jones Jackson of Mobile; his children, Crystal Jackson, Tiffany Jackson (Darine), Willie Jackson Jr. (Jasmene), Ebony Jackson and Willie Mae Rice, all of Mobile and Juantongia Calvin (Derrick) of Texas; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charlie Jackson (Ella) of Barlow Bend; two sisters, Aquilla Jackson of Barlow Bend and Dinah Stokes (Clausell) of Mobile; devoted nephew, Joseph Pickens; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
