Willie Drew White was born on August 11, 1949 to Lucille and Freeman White in Shongaloo,Louisiana. He completed his primary education in Louisiana and was the first one in his
immediate family to relocate to Indianapolis, Indiana in the early 1970s. He later went back and brought some of his siblings with him where he continued to build his future.
Willie was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Coffer and to this union a beautiful daughter,Brenda Nekiah White, was born in 1979.
shape and frequented the gym. Willie loved fast cars, motorcycles and took great pride in the cars, motorcycles, and scooters he owned. Willie was a hard worker and believed in saving his money.
“Poppy,” as he was affectionately called by his two loving grandchildren, always encouraged Tyler and Mya to be self-sufficient and responsible. He shared an unbreakable bond with Tyler.
and showed him how to ride motorcycles and ignited his love for fast cars. “Poppy” was so proud of Mya, her work ethic, and desire to further her education.
Willie will always be remembered as a man of few words, with a smile that could light up a room. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
Willie went to his heavenly home on August 27, 2021, at the age of 72 years and 17 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Wilora White Hudson, Mildred
Fuller Manning, and Irene Fuller Williams; and four brothers, Claude White, J.C. Fuller, M.C. Fuller, and Joseph Fuller.
Willie’s memory will be cherished by: his only child, Brenda (Kiah) White; his beautiful grandchildren, Tyler and Mya; three sisters, Elther J. Banks of Detroit, Michigan, Mary J. (Jim)
Walton of Southfield, Michigan, and Esther Mae White of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers, Archie Lee (Barbara) White, Andrew White, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Albert (Easter)
White, Jr., of Cullen, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
